2022 has brought along some changes to home decorating!

Homeowners are seeking refuge and looking for warm and cozy spaces. Home finishes are reflecting this warm feel with brown and beige finishes coming into play in 2022.

Room Redesign Trends

When it comes to room redesign, black metal is a prevalent finish in stair railings, windows, dividing walls, kitchen and faucets. Custom and botanical wallpapers are on either feature walls, or on all walls of a room.

Surprisingly, although the 2022 Pantone Colour of the Year was Veri Peri, a blue hue with red undertones, most paint companies are choosing green hues this year.

Due to concerns over the environment, people are looking for re-claimed natural materials. Some home accessories that are popular include geometric, metal, textured, angular, black and rough surfaces or strong colours.

Floor Plans

With more people spending time in their homes, there are less open concept floorplans being requested. People are looking for dedicated activity spaces such as home bars, meditation spaces, home theatres, home gyms, office spaces, dining rooms, wine cellars and art studios.

Outdoor spaces are being visually extended by using cantina folding patio doors.
